At Preveiling Touch, we practice transpersonal therapy. This is a more holistic approach to therapy that emphasizes the role of a healthy spirit to healing in addition to addressing mental, physical, and emotional needs. Transpersonal therapy can be used to treat a variety of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, mood and behavior problems, addictions, and phobias. Transpersonal therapists use a multitude of techniques in conjunction with traditional therapy methods, including meditation, guided visualization, mindfulness techniques, and dream work. It is our belief that a healthy spirit is just as vital to your overall balance as a healthy body and mind. By exploring your spiritual side and building upon your inner strengths, you can work to overcome more intangible aspects of yourself.
- Medical Mutual
I am an independently licensed social worker and have provided therapy services and family interventions for more than 7 years. I have experience with adults who have been diagnosed with chronic medical health concerns as well as mental health concerns. Those include chronic kidney disease, depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, and PTSD. I use a combination of methods in sessions, including spiritual, reiki, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. As a result, my style is considered to be transpersonal therapy. Also, religious affiliation is not a requirement for seeking my services, as I meet everyone where they are in their journey toward wellness.
Along with being a social worker, I am also an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, a certified Reiki Master Teacher, and holistic health and wellness practitioner. My focus in sessions is to listen, hear, provide feedback, and help my clients build road maps for success to their individual goals. No person is identical and neither are their obstacles; therefore, I truly believe in tailoring my clients' services to their individual needs.
Past clients have remarked to me and others I have worked alongside about how I genuinely expressed my compassion for their overall welfare. I focus on the entire person from a holistic perspective, which means I do not just focus on the mental or emotional aspect of a person's dilemma, but also include their social, cultural, religious/spiritual, and intrapersonal relationship to bring clients back to a state of balance.
I see you. I hear you. You matter.
